Poetry Teacher, Research Fellow, Shinnyo-en Foundation

Worked with 12 Black and Brown girls (6th grade) at West Oakland Middle School. This service project incorporated Black creative arts (e.g. poetry, singing, dancing) peace building, mindfulness and sisterhood. I executed this project by teaching them the foundations of poetry and facilitated workshops with Black women artists. I also conducted research on alternative Black girl schools and programs.
